February 12, 2020
Dear Parents,
In the Matthew’s Gospel reading this past weekend, we heard the words, “You are the light of the world…your light must shine before all people so that they will see the good you do and give praise to my Father in heaven. We are called to do good works in order that others will recognize the goodness and mercy of God. As we grow nearer to the Lenten season (Ash Wednesday, February 26th), we look to prayer, sacrifice, and service to others as ways to answer our call from God.
Re-registration forms for the 2020-2021 school year will be sent home this week. Please note the due date on the form. Registration for new students is currently underway. This includes siblings of current students.
Catholic Foundation Scholarship Applications may be completed now on the FACTS website. Please note that last year’s tax information may be used. Please do not let this opportunity pass, as it not only helps your family, but also our school. Anyone wishing to complete this application should begin the process ASAP. In order to receive additional financial assistance from the school, it is necessary to complete this application on the FACTS system. The deadline is March 1, 2020 with no exceptions.
As we are in the midst of the flu and virus season, we remind you that children must be fever free for 24 hours prior to returning to school. This is for everyone’s continued health. With that in mind, our school handbook policy (available on our school web site at sjsnl.com) states that you are to call the office when your child is out for illness, and send a note prior to other absences. Telling or texting the teacher is not sufficient. You must notify the office.
