Principal’s Letter, April 22nd

April 22, 2020

Dear St. Joseph School Families,

As we continue in this Easter Season, may we greet each day with prayer, remembering that New Life is who and what we are called to be as God’s people. This is especially meaningful in this time of COVID-19.  Each of us is striving to do our best as we are working at home, assisting in educating our children at home, and simply trying to be families in this difficult time.

Last Sunday, we celebrated Divine Mercy Sunday.  On this day we asked for God’s mercy as we remembered the suffering of Jesus for us, for the atonement of sin for all time.  May we continue to pray for His mercy on our world as we continue to seek an end to this disease and its consequences.

As has been the case since March 16th, the teachers and I will continue to support you and your children, not only as we learn together, but as we continue to pray and play as one school family.  If there is any way in which we can be of service to you and your children please do not hesitate to contact us.  We will continue to do our best to accommodate your needs.

Teachers will be meeting with their classes and individual students through Zoom (always with your permission).  Please look for these email requests.  We are responsible to keep “attendance” giving credibility to student participation through this and through work completed.  Students in grades 4-8 should log in for themselves, and parents will need to log in for students in grades K-3. We understand that under current circumstances for families, this current system of learning/teaching may not be easy.  Most of our teachers are experiencing what you are experiencing, working from home while attending to their families.  Faith, patience, hope, love for one another and for what is to be in the future must continue to be uppermost in our minds.

Our staff continues to meet to discuss the progress of our distance learning programs.  If you have concerns, please feel free to contact anyone of us to share those concerns.  We will be certain to respond. Our next online faculty meeting will be Thursday morning, April 23rd.

As always you and your children are in my prayers.  Please continue to keep me and our staff in yours.

                                                                                                            Sincerely,

                                                                                                            Marianne Cote
