January 7, 2021
Dear Parents,
May I begin by wishing you all a very Happy and Blessed New Year! Our school family has been blessed in so many ways and we give thanks to our God, the source of all these blessings. May 2021 be a year of peace, health, and happiness for all in our school family! Also, in light of yesterday’s event in our country, I ask that we all take time to actively pray for peace in this nation and in our communities.
As you know it had been Mrs. Bailey’s plan to retire in June of 2020. With all that was happening she graciously agreed to continue at St. Joseph School through the remainder of the calendar year, for which we are truly grateful. Her expertise and kind manner were vital to opening and continuing thus far. We are truly appreciative of Mrs. Bailey’s time here at St. Joseph’s as a classroom assistant for several years, as our Administrative Assistant more recently, and of course as parent, Home and School Association president, and friend. We wish Mrs. Bailey happiness in her much-deserved retirement. As with many of our retired staff, we know that we will continue to see Mrs. Bailey, as she has offered her services as a substitute when needed. If you wish to thank Mrs. Bailey, please feel free to send notes or cards to the school and we will be sure that she receives them.
We also want to welcome our new Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Kathleen Bergeron. Mrs. Bergeron is also a long-time friend of our school. She is the parent of 4 alumni of St. Joseph and her husband is also a former School Board Member. Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Bergeron, as you speak with her on the phone and in the future as you meet her in person. We are truly fortunate that she has re-joined our school family.
Catholic Foundation Scholarship Applications may be completed starting now on the FACTS website. Please note that last years tax information may be used. Please do not let this opportunity pass, as it not only helps your family, but also our school. Anyone wishing to complete this application should begin the process immediately. The deadline is March 5, 2021 with no exceptions. Recipients will be notified at the beginning of June. The amount received is usually in the vicinity of $500 per child.
Questions should be directed to Mrs. Bustamonte at tuitionadmin@sjsnl.org.
I reminder you that Friday is a 12:30 dismissal day due to Faculty Professional Development. Please refer to you January calendar for information regarding special events and days of NO SCHOOL, e.g., January 18th, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
You are in our prayers always. Please continue to keep us in yours.
Sincerely,
Marianne Cote
