Principal’s Letter – 05/26/21

May 26, 2021

Dear St. Joseph School Families,

Pentecost calls us to continue the work of Jesus Christ. Having celebrated this feast last weekend, may we not forget our call to holiness in doing His work of compassion and peace.  We are called to share the good news that every person is loved unconditionally by God!

After 33 successful years of service to St. Joseph School and its children, Mrs. Christine Williamson has chosen to retire at the close of this school year. We wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all that Mrs. Williamson has done for our school, its children, and families who have been the recipients of her tireless dedication to educating and nurturing the young people of our school.  Mrs. Williamson will be greatly missed by everyone in our St. Joseph School Family.

Please keep in mind that although the mask-wearing mandate has been lifted in some areas, schools are required to continue with masks for the time being.  Also, with the warm weather coming, we ask that your children continue to bring their water bottles.  Many are asking for cups, and these are not sufficient or safe for carrying through the building.

Since the next school year appears to be looking as if there will be more normalcy, we will be returning to all of our uniform rules.  Hoodies will no longer be worn in the classrooms.  The school will be adhering to its summer uniform policies at that time.  Sneakers must be white, black, blue, or gray only.  Khaki shorts of an appropriate length, and polo shirts with school logo are to be worn as well.  Ordering information for the current and coming school year may be found on our website at under announcements. This includes a 20% discount coupon for uniforms ordered prior to June 15th.  Orders may be made online and by phone.

Games Day will be held on June 1st.  While we would love to allow parents to attend, for everyone’s comfort and safety this is just not possible this year.  Awards Day will be held on June 4th to celebrate our Graduates and to present some specific “non-graduation” awards to them and to other students. Since this will be in the auditorium, we will be limiting the adult presence to a specific number of guests for our Graduates with a few additions specific to major awards being given.  The Graduate’s families will be notified personally of the number of guests that may be in attendance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our parents.

Our final day of school for this year will be on June 9th.  This will be a short day—10:30 dismissal after Mass and promotion, as is our school tradition.  The 3 days prior to this will be 12:30 p.m. dismissal days.  These would be June 4th, 7th, and 8th.  Afterschool care will be available on these days, but not on the 9th. The closing Mass will take place at 9 a.m. on the 9th. Students will be promoted and then return to school to receive their report cards and say their goodbyes for the summer.  Students will not be dismissed earlier than the 10:30 dismissal time.

Please look for the tentative calendar for the next school year as an email communication as well as a hard copy to be sent next week. It will also be posted on our website at

Registration continues for Grades K-7 (8th grade registration is closed.).  If you are aware of someone who is interested in attending St. Joseph School for those grade levels, please invite them to call the school office.  Tours have resumed for those who are interested.  Please call for an appointment.

Everyone continues to be in our prayers. Please continue to keep us in yours.
