“This is a holy place where we discover each other in God’s love.”
May 25, 2022
Dear St. Joseph School Families,
We are all deeply saddened by the tragedy that occurred yesterday in the elementary school in Texas. As we hold our own children close, may we not forget that God walks with us and with the families of Robb Elementary School. We are fortunate at this time that as a school family, we can turn to God in prayer as we mourn every senseless death of children and teachers that has occurred in our country and our state. Please join with me in praying for these families, whose lives have been forever changed. May our prayers help us to recognize the God who dwells in each person.
In preparing for the coming school year, please be mindful of the fact that our uniforms are made to order, since each school wears its own plaid. It is important to order early for this reason. Those who order before mid-June usually receive a discount. Students entering 6th grade have a change in uniform style. Please consult the Donnelly’s website or the uniform section of the Handbook for this information.
Upcoming plays include Kindergarten on May 27th and Grade 8 on June 2nd. Awards Day, during which we honor our 8th graders and other students receiving awards, takes place on June 3 at 10 a.m. Eighth grade families are expected to attend. Parents of significant award recipients in other grades will be notified by email to attend. Graduation is June 4th at the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Joseph Church. We also remind you that June 8th is our last day of school for this year with a dismissal time of 10:30. No aftercare is available on this day. Dismissal on June 6th and 7th will be at 12:30 p.m. with afterschool care available. Please mark your calendars for these important events.
As we move toward our normal activity level, we are planning an Open House on the evening of May 26th from 5-7 p.m. This is for new and prospective parents. If you are aware of anyone entering grades Kindergarten through Grade 6 who may be interested in sending their children to St. Joseph School, please encourage them to attend this evening of touring and questions answered by faculty and staff.
All library books are due back to the library May 26th.

Once again, we would like to thank the following Home and School Association officers for their service to our school during the past several years: Presidents—Lisa Lazarou, whose son will be graduating this year; Eva Papathanasiou, whose daughter will be entering the 8th grade, and Secretary—Gillian Egan, whose daughter will also be graduating. These officers will be stepping down, while our Treasurer—Jennifer Bustamonte will remain. Many thanks for all you have done and will continue to do for our school.
We welcome new co-Presidents, who will continue the legacy of sharing their talents in service to our school. Mrs. Kristin Massad and Mrs. Susan Tierney will take on these positions. I ask that everyone applaud their efforts and support their ideas as we continue to make St. Joseph School the wonderful school family it has always been.
We continue to keep everyone in our prayers and ask that you keep us in yours, as we begin to bring this challenging school year to a close, and look forward to the next!
God’s Blessings!
Marianne Cote
