“A Holy Place Where We Discover Each Other In God’s Love.”

November 21, 2022

Dear St. Joseph School Families,

This Thursday we will celebrate Thanksgiving—a day that reminds us to give thanks for the harvest and richness of the gifts of our families and our nation. As we
gather with our families, whether they are large or small, let us remember all who might be without food and homes, or without the comfort of family. Let us ask God’s blessing
on all of His children. The word Eucharist that we celebrate each weekend (and hopefully more often) comes from the Greek for “thanksgiving”. Our Eucharist is the center of our
faith lives; therefore, giving thanks for all that God has given, must be an everyday occurrence for us. May we all take time to remember everyone and everything with
which God has graced our lives.

I remind you that Tuesday is a 12:30 p.m. dismissal day and there is no school on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. There is also NO AFTER SCHOOL
CARE on Tuesday, November 22nd.

With the colder weather here, it is necessary for the children to wear hats, gloves and coats when coming to school. A sweatshirt is not enough to be wearing
on the playground.

Lessons and Carols will take place on Friday, December 9th at 6:30 p.m. in Church. All students and at least 1 adult are required to join in this wonderful
celebration of the Advent/Christmas season. Attire for the girls is dark skirt and white blouse or sweater. The boys are expected to wear dark trousers, white shirt and a
tie that is Christmas appropriate. No athletic shoes please. All students are to be in their seats at 6:15 p.m.

“Dress-down Day” in December will be December 16 th . I thank you in advance for your generosity in giving to our “stocking stuffer” collection, as we assist the area
DCF to provide for children in foster homes. One stocking stuffer is required, e.g., crayons, markers, drawing pads, small games—Rubik’s cubes, travel games, in order to
dress down on this day.

My wish for you in this wonderful Thanksgiving season is the joy of spending this time with family and especially the precious gift of your children.. I thank you for your
prayers and for your support of our wonderful St. Joseph School and its mission. Please keep each of us in your prayers as we give thanks for all of the wonderful gifts we have
been given as God’s people. You are in my prayers at this very busy but very special time. I pray that time spent with your family this Thanksgiving may be a time of peaceful
reflection on all that we have been given. May we rejoice in God’s goodness to us!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

God Bless You,

Marianne Cote
