“This is a holy place where we discover each other in God’s love.”
May 10, 2023
Dear St. Joseph School Families, This week we ask our Blessed Mother Mary to watch over all of our mothers, grandmothers, aunts and all those who take care of us like mothers do. We also remember all of our mothers who now live in heaven in the care of God and all the saints. On May 11th starting a 7:45 a.m. we look forward to seeing our mothers or a special woman in our lives as we celebrate them at “Muffins with Moms”. We thank the Massad family for their generosity of time and treasure in hosting this event. Please be mindful that there are many class activities that will occur during May and June. Please continue to view your school calendar and classroom communications for important information, regarding field trips and other activities in which your children’s classes may be involved. “All-School” dates of interest include our Art Exhibit on May 30th, during which more than 400 pieces of student artwork will be displayed. Games Day, which includes lunch provided by the Home and School Association, takes place on the same day during school hours. Awards Day is on June 2nd. Chaperones for class trips must have already completed the requirements for the Diocesan Office of Safe Environments. The request to complete this process is sent for your attention at the beginning of each school year. As indicated at that time, the process must be completed in order to volunteer for special classroom events, assist with lunch duty, and/or chaperone field trips. The paperwork involved takes several weeks to process, and each applicant must take the online course for the Safe Environments program.. Therefore, both must be completed in a timely manner. We are unable to process any further requests for this school year. As our 8th Graders continue to prepare for graduation, class pictures wearing caps and gowns, will be taken on Monday morning, May 15th. The school will celebrate the Ascension of our Lord at 9 a.m. Mass on May 19th. We congratulate Abigael Dumas on being chosen St. Joseph School Rotary Student of the Year. She will be honored at luncheon with her parents and Mrs. Egan on May 19th. Monday and Tuesday of the last week of school, June 5th and 6th, are 12:30 dismissal days. The last day for this school year will be June 7th with a 10:45 a.m. dismissal. There is no after school care on that day. All are invited to attend Mass at 9 a.m., followed by the promotion of students. You are in our prayers each day. Please continue to keep all of us in yours. God Bless You!
