Enrichment

Our students grow personally through a wide array of enrichment programs designed to nourish them spiritually and educationally.

Theater –Every year, each grade performs a play for the student body, family and friends. They are always a delight for the audience, but help to grow public speaking and performance skills.

Science Fair – Grades 5-8 participate in our yearly Science Fair. Each grade focuses on a different topic. Once submitted, the entire school is invited to view the project.yr1718-02

 

Chorus – St. Joseph School offers an opportunity for students to join the Choir. Students in grades 3 – 8 practice once a week with the Music Teacher. On first Friday masses, the Choir leads in song. Two concerts are given to show case their talent sand hard work.

Band– Our school offers instrumental instruction to students in grades 4-8 under the direction of Connecticut Future Musicians. No experience necessary!! Students choose an instrument and are given weekly instruction on how to play. Concerts are performed during the year to highlight their skills.
After school clubs– Rubik’s Cube Club, Yearbook, Student Council, Knitting, Chess, and Baking

Young Authors Program– The entire school participates in an exciting opportunity to write their own book! Students are asked to create a book and become the author and illustrator! During the end of the year Awards Ceremony, students from each grade are recognized for their efforts.

Patriot’s Pen – Conducted nationwide, this VFW-sponsored youth essay competition gives students an opportunity to write essays expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme. We encourage each student to participate every year.
